Hello Everyone! I hope you all are doing good. You must have seen the title, Mental Health Matters. So Everyone know about mental health right? We all know what is mental health. But actually how much we know about Mental health? Think. 


Many times we see some words & slogans related to mental health or illness. Like anxiety, depression, healing, wellbeing, Mental health matters, it's okay not to be okay, seek help, reach out to professionals, speak up, break the stigma & all about Mental health awareness. 

& Many people are becoming aware & it's a good thing. 


But still some people are not. They don't know how to take care of their Mental health. & not paying attention to mental health. Some are like we are not crazy we don't need to go to doctor. & what will people think about us if we go. we are not weak, we are not crazy. & some people ready to get help from professionals but again they think if I shared my problems to therapist then they will tell someone else. So they worried about confidentiality. & they cancel their appointments. & some people thinks therapist chatting with patients, give some advice & that’s it. They only take charges for talking. & the most common question is can therapist read our mind? Actually therapy works? What they do. & You may have many questions in your mind whether you should visit to Mental health professionals or not, right? 

So come on first of all let See, what is mental health? 


It's all about how people think, feel & behave. Is a state of psychological, emotional & social well-being in individual. 


Some conditions that affects mood, thinking & behavior is called mental illness. & When conditions affects mood, thinking & behavior long lasting then it turns in to mental disorders. 

For example stressful life, medical conditions, traumatic experience, Relationship problems, Financial problems , genetic problems etc. causes of mental illness. For example Anxiety , Depression, stress, trauma, etc. Are the mental illness. 


So how should we take care of our mental health? Following are some basic & simple guidelines. 

1) Practice Gratitude 

2) Stay organized 

3) Understand What you feel 

4) Meditation, exercise, stay hydrated, proper sleep & healthy diet. 

5) Spend time with family, friends, loved ones 

6) Spend time in hobbies, nature & self care & self love. 

7) No comparison with others, stay busy learn new things, keep intention pure stay kind. 

8) Visit mental health professionals & get help 


Psychologist, psychotherapist, Counsellor, Psychiatrist, & therapist all are mental health professionals. & They can not read your mind. They study human behavior & trained in therapies, Counselling, diagnosis, assessment & treatment. They trained to observe, listen, understand & support through active communication & empathy. & provide safe, confidential & judgment free environment. & helping you to find ways to deal with your problems. 

For headache, fever, cold etc. For physical illness we reach out to doctors. Same for mental illness for example anxiety, Stress, Depression etc. we should reach out to mental health professionals. 


Good mental health leads good physical health. Because our mind & body connect each other. It is a part of life. If the mind is happy you can handle & take care of everything properly in your daily life. If you are not able to handle your problems by yourself then you should ask professional help. Asking for help is not a weakness it’s a brave step. So take care of your mental health & seek help because Mental health matters.
